Sponsor the Festival

The Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival (NCCBF) celebrates the cultural heritage of Japanese Americans residing in Northern California and is one of the largest and most prominent celebrations of Asian culture in this state. The Festival draws over 220,000 visitors to San Francisco’s Japantown, the largest Japantown in the U.S. and one of San Francisco’s most visited tourist destinations.

The NCCBF was started in 1968 by a group of dedicated Japanese and Japanese American business and community leaders as a way to promote Japanese customs and traditions. The Festival is now organized by a group of dedicated volunteers and has become one of the largest and most prominent cherry blossom festivals outside of Japan. Participants gather from across the Bay Area and Japan to share their craft and further strengthen the bonds of friendship between the U.S. and Japan. In 2015, the Festival added the Sakura 360 area, which explores the Japanese pop culture movement. This venue attracts a wide audience and grows increasingly popular year by year.

The Festival is made possible by the generous donations and support from our corporate and community sponsors. Through these partnerships, we have been effective in expanding the Festival, and programs and events to meet the needs and improve accessibility to our many Festival participants, meanwhile preserving the authenticity of our beloved tradition.

Festival sponsors are recognized across the festival grounds and local media coverage, and our online presence continues to expand (see Media & Advertising below). We are interested in customizing your sponsorship packets to meet your marketing campaigns.

Several sponsorship opportunities are listed below. Please contact Kiyomi Takeda at ktakeda@nccbf.org with sponsorship inquiries. We thank you in advance for your support.
