Dear Prospective Non-Profit Organization Participant:

It is time for the annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival (NCCBF) in San Francisco’s historic Japantown. This year marks the festival’s 53rd year of celebrating and sharing the traditional and contemporary culture of Japan and Japanese Americans. NCCBF remains as one of Japantown’s biggest events of the year. The non-profit information booths and, more importantly, our partnership with local non-profit organizations is an integral component of the festival.

If this is the first time that your organization is participating in the event, the Non-Profit Information Booth Program is an excellent way to increase your organization’s visibility within the community. With over 50,000 attendees per day, the non-profit information booths are a popular attraction and visited by a majority of festival goers.

This year the NCCBF will be held during the weekends of April 11 & 12 and April 18 & 19, 2020. This year’s Grand Parade will be held on the second weekend of the festival on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Due to the parade route, we will not be able to offer booth space on Sunday, April 19, 2020. Information booth spaces are located on Post Street between Buchannan and Webster Streets, from 11am to 5pm.

Participation in the NCCBF Information Booth Program is by application process. All participating organizations must be able to provide the following:

1. Proof of non-profit status 501(c)(3) or equivalent.
2. Proof of Insurance/Insurance Certificate.
3. Copy of State Board of Equalization Seller’s Permit. Only if selling merchandise for fundraising purposes.

Applications with supporting documentation (items 1-3 above) must be received by March 20, 2020 using our electronic submission process. A confirmation letter with booth placement information will be sent by April 1, 2020. Booth placement is subject to availability and may change to accommodate last minute needs of the festival. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility should we need to make any last minute booth placement decisions.

We are excited to partner with your organization for this event. If you have any questions about the application process, please feel free to contact us at npoinformationbooth@nccbf.org
Detailed application information and FAQs are below.

Sincerely,
